Along with her husband, Roshan Richards started Soaplicity  five years ago. She has since been offering a host of handmade bath and body products for those with sensitivities.
She herself has many allergies to commercial products and so she’s dedicated herself to providing all-natural remedies for those like her.

How did it all start?

Soaplicity was born out of Roshan’s frustration with the lack of all-natural products available on the market. It seemed like no matter what she tried, she was continually sick.
She was constantly breaking out in rashes and battling headaches due to the ingredients in commercial products. She couldn’t take it anymore.
She began extensive research on the qualities and benefits of botanical oils, butters, herbs, clays and essential oils.
She then started making her own products. Not only did they make a difference...they made a difference immediately!

Roshan knew that others could benefit too.

She began selling her products . From the beginning, she’s been committed to keeping ingredients as close to nature as possible.
Her products are free of artificial colors and fragrances, paraben, sulfate, petrochemicals and formaldehyde. All ingredients are sustainable, gluten-free, vegan and no cruelty testing takes place.
Additionally, unlike its competitors, Soaplicity does not  use the same base for each soap. Although this would save time and money, it’s best for each ingredient in each soap to serve a specific purpose.

Usually, all of this would equal dollar signs.

Yet, despite the quality ingredients and the hard work that goes into making Soaplicity’s products, customers don’t have to break the bank.
Everything is reasonably priced. That has certainly been a contributor to the success of this business. There are many out there who are interested in and need all-natural products.
Yet, the majority of the few options available are expensive. Not so with Soaplicity.
So the people have flocked there for all of their bath and body needs.
Within just nine months of opening, the store had become so popular that Roshan chose to let go of her regular job. Years later and business is still booming.

What keeps customers coming back?

Quality, for one thing. Quality control is very important to the team. That’s why all products are made in small batches.
Many customers have commented on the high quality and effectiveness of Soaplicity’s products.
For example, one customer remarked: “ I have tried many expensive face products and none of them came even close to what this product did for me.
Another stated: “ My son has had eczema extremely painful all his life. These are the only products that gave him relief. He hardly has it anymore! "
Simply put, customers love Soaplicity because it offers products that really work.

Too, customers receive more than just physical products.

Roshan and her employees love to educate people. They want each person to be able to make informed and wise decisions about what’s right for their skin.
That being said, they try to provide a highly personalized experience for each individual that comes through the doors.
This experience includes a tour of the shop, which helps people to understand all of the options available to them.
At the end of the day, there’s no doubt that many people are very happy to have found Soaplicity!
